OK, so the plan here is to let you know about all kinds of things. Get inspired by your peers doin’ it and gettin’ it done. I would also like to share with you some books, websites, documents, links, videos about the filmmaking process. Being an indie filmmaker (as in broke) is tough. I know first hand. I’ve directed and produced a couple features (“Cornelius” and “The Last Intervention“) and a ton of music videos, shorts and bits shot for little to NO money. I am constantly learning new things. I’m always looking for things to get me fired up and for things that will help me get these projects made. On Cinebodega 101 I will pass on anything I find that might be useful to you if you’re thinking of making your own film. I don’t consider myself an expert at anything but exploration. I love discovery. So whether it’s a new piece of equipment, tips or advice, or other filmmaker’s documented journeys into adventures of their own – I want to share with you. Toma!
Today’s will be a quickie. http://nofilmschool.com
This very informative site started by Ryan Koo is an endless resource if indie movie making from folks who are at it, everyday. This is from their “About” page.
NoFilmSchool is a site for DIY filmmakers and independent creatives. The site focuses on tools and technology relevant to filmmakers, writers, directors, editors, producers, cinematographers, bloggers, designers, and entrepreneurs. If you’re a multi-hyphenate — meaning, you’re more than one of these things — all the better…
The site also explores the following question: how do you quit your day job and forge a truly independent, sustainable career? A big part of this is figuring out how to derive value from the content you create. If you’re creating something valuable, you should get paid for it! So NoFilmSchool also explores issues of self-sustainability, as well as productivity (how do you get the most out of a limited number of hours in the day? What tools can help?).
I recommend it especially because just for signing up you get a very useful DSLR Cinematography Guide for gratis. FREE. Go check it out!!!Share on Facebook
